After her birth, she spent a few centuries rising to power as Demon Lord of Navia’s Underworld. Needing a change, she left that position ~1500 years ago, eventually settling in Nightwind and taking the throne by trial through combat. By her tradition, all rulers of Nightwind are named king, regardless of gender.

Ishethra is motherly and generous to friends, but her fiery wrath cannot be tempered on the disloyal, those who commit atrocities, or those who take advantage of the vulnerable.

Her name is a fusion from Ishtar, the Babylonian goddess of love and war, Eisheth Zenunim, a demoness in Jewish mythology, one of the four angels of sacred prostitution, prostitution, lust, pleasure, fertility and wealth, and lastly, Ra, from Egyptian mythology.
