Gamma Version Done
I found a great editor, Kristin Campbell, who scoured my text while giving super helpful feedback. My understanding of English has grown, along with my respect for editors. She was thorough, and found thousands of things needing tweaking or fixing.
Here’s my final word count, and I’m pleased to announce I’ve exceeded Brandon Sanderson’s first Mistborn book by a whopping 327 words, at least according to https://gzidar.wordpress.com/2012/04/05/mistborn-by-the-numbers/
I started writing this book loosely August 2023 and in earnest October 2023. To have it in a version that’s close to shippable is satisfying. I’ve given the book to a few people to gamma read. If you are interested in gamma reading, please email [email protected].
Since age 7, I’ve been programming computers. After writing this first book, I declare conjuring fiction more intense than software engineering. I wouldn’t have guessed this but beyond the imagination and creative strain, getting one’s thoughts down in English with any kind of coherence is draining, to put it mildly. Perhaps this will get easier as I write more, though as I’m getting on in my mid to late forties, I think aging will even things out.
I continue to work on book two, Bane War Warlord, and will share more details and scene sneak peeks in a future post.
Go live your dreams!
