What’s in a Name?

I looked up the definition of Alara today, a name I picked randomly from a list of female baby names. It means “Water Fairy.” Spoiler alert, Alara isn’t a water fairy.

For much of the morning I researched a new name for her. I came up with Saffa, meaning “innocent,” and “pure.”

It’s a little weird changing the name after most of the book is written, but this new name is much better for her character.
